And that's what you get

Call me lifeless, but this is what has been taking up most of my time recently. I discovered this site while half-consciously clicking away through photos on Mr Kevin's facebook album. I told you I was bored..

If they had a Pn Choong impersonation contest, I would win hands down baby..

Ok, that was disturbing. Now for some manly, masculine  pictures of me :

Manly much?

I seriously look like my Dad in here ;/

Double Chin!

Love my Afro :)

I also did a few on other people. If oyu are one of them, too bad :) If you're not, don't feel left out. It's beacause you don't have the face, the je ne sais quoi needed for the picture ;)

Enjoy,..

Alynna. The hairstyle suits her, no?

Mae. I know I always say you bear resemblance to some guy, but even though this is a guy haircut, unbelievably, you look like my aunt.. Maybe it's the curls?

Sandra. Suits her, very well.

Sister. 0.0

(The other) Ashley trying to be lala.

Magic tricks and Yellow balloons

I remember there was one post, by Dang that said something about there being more visitors reading his blog from the USA in comparison to readers from big ol' Asia.
Well, It's just happened to me. American readers pawn Asians outnumbering them three to one.

1st place                  US - 69.2 %

2nd place                 Malaysia - 23.1%

3rd place                  Canada - 7.7%

Hmmmphh, so much for the Malaysian spirit. Come on Asians, you just got your ass smacked. Yeah, sure you beat Canada. WHO CARES?!!

Lets get ourselves to the top spot again. Oh, and hopefully in the process boost up my analytics and whilst doing so click on my ads and help me make a living?

Thanks.

Spontaneously falling asleep

You know, there are times when you're mind is in such a hyper mood. You have so many post ideas. But then, there are those times when you have a mental block and when you try to think of something you're just, well, blocked?

I guess I'm just not in the mood.

Oh, I found these acronyms in some blog.

SIRIM - Saya Ingat Rambo Itu Melayu
FELDA - Father Engkau Lancapkan Dugong Aku
MARA - Mak Awak Rogol Aku / Monkeys Are Rare Animals

What to do? What to do?

It's only the fifth day of the holidays but I feel bored already. Lifeless too. I'm not alone though, most people would agree that these few days have been as boring as ever. Silence seems as loud as it is obvious, life is a void. Empty, dark and predictable. Thank God it's only 2 months. But this 2 months is so much better in comparison to the 10 months after that. Not to mention PMR.

Another thing that keeps me from passing away due to boredom is next year. I always find it exciting having a new class. Finding new friends. It's always an adventure, but sadly, the novelty usually wears off in a few weeks. I'm pretty satisfied with my results as I got 36/40 for science 1. Science 2 is a different story but I choose to be satisfied :)

This is a lesson to remember. Never ever underestimate the stupidity of idiots. Since last wednesday was the last day of school, officially, some people were a bit hyperactive. Such as me and everyone else. But in the humble class of 2 jati there were two heroes who felt that they weren't stupid enough and due to that day being the last of school they lased out their emotions.

As everyone knows, Arvind and Teck Yoong are a joke 'item' and have been doing stupid things since the beginning of the universe and last wednesday was off the charts. Before this they had their book games. Paper chess, Bionicle, Snakes 'n Ladders, etc etc.

This time, they went ninja. Arvind made a long paper sword or so I thought. It was actually a 'deadly' nunchuko which had, ..wait for it... a needle stuck to the end. So, while fighting with the villian, Teck Yoong, the needle from the tip of his weapon got loose and slipped, hit the fan blades and proceeded to hit Arvind in the face. Nicely missing his eye, Arvind's eye had a scratch next to it. I was laughing my head off when it happened. I knew I was uncaringly cruel but I didn't care. It was like revenge and I was ecstatic.

SERVES THE MENTAL RETARD RIGHT!

Jackass Juliet, won't you slap me

Malaysian's are getting more, and more rascist everyday. Today I just checked my analytics and saw a few keywords which people searched on search engines to find my blog.

Malay vs Chinese: 2 hits

Malay: 1 hit

Wth is wrong with our country beechez? OR, it could be that it wasnt a Malaysian searching away for racial stuff since I've had people from Bahrain, Aussie, HK And many more reading my crap? Who cares..

Maybe I should try using this situation to my advantage by blogging about racial related things to attract more hits. Whaddyathink?

Hang Tuah and his origins

got this off an Uncle Shawn's blog. Don't bother, none of you know him. Enjoy,..

To be taken with a pinch of salt

Recently, I was told that Hang Tuah (a legendary Malay warrior) is not Malay! I was dumbfounded and could not believe what I heard (of course this issue had to surface when racial integration in Malaysia is at its tipping point). Thus, I did a bit of research and this is what I found (please take note that it is a really long write up about Hang Tuah):

Taken from http://www.yellowbamboohk.com/yellowbamboo/Origins%20of%20Hang%20Tuah%20by%20John%20Chow.html

Origins of Hang Tuah ( and Hang Jebat Hang Lekiu etc)

By John Chow

Findings of the team of scientists, archaeologist, historian and other technical staff from the United State, United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Yemen & Russia

The graves of Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Lekiu and their close friends have been found and their skeletons had been analysed. Their DNA had been analysed and it is found that Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Lekiu etc. are not Malay, but Chinese (Islamic Chinese, just like the famous Admiral Cheng Ho). Malacca was a protectorate of China at that time, and the Emperor of China sent the Sultan of Malacca “yellow gifts’ as a token of his sovereignty. The 5 warrior brothers were believed to be sent to help protect Malacca and its Sultan from Siam (Thailand).

The Sultans of Malacca was directly descended from the Parameswara from Indonesia who fled to Tamasek (Singapore) and then to Malacca. The Malaccan Sulatanate family eventually spread and became the Sultanate of the other Malay states of Perak and Johor. Therefore, the Sultanate royal court and the aristocrats of the Malay sultanates are actually foreigners from Sumatra and Java. Hang Tuah and his friends were the protectors of the Indonesian aristocratic Parameswara family who came to Malaya around 1400 AD and claimed sovereignty of the land.

John Chow’s notes:-

“Hang” is an unusual surname or name for a Malay. It sounds like s corruption of a Chinese surname.

In fact, Chinese names start with the surname first, and given names last. Malay names start with the given names first, and the father’s name last (as in Ahmad bin Yusuf which means “Ahmad, the son of Yusuf”). There is no surname in traditional Malay! There is no surname to carry forward to the next generation.

We also need to examine the genealogy. We know that Hang Tuah’s father was Hang Mamat. Here, we do not see a Malay name transmission. We see a name being carried forward. It is also noted that the placement of the name that is carried forward is in front. This indicates that the surname is “Hang”. It is the transmission of Chinese names.

We also know that Hang Tuah’s son is Hang Nadim. Again, the name “Hang” is carried forward, and yet again, auspiciously in front, as a Chinese name would be, with the surname in front. There is no indication of a Malay naming convention.

Note that Hang Nadim is also known as Si Awang (Malays would colloquially refer to others as “Si”. “A” or “Ah” is a common prefix for referring to others in Chinese. Thus, a person with surname Wang/Huang would be referred to as “Si Ah Wang” in Malaysia - Mr. Ah Huang) by the Malays.

Note that Hang Tuah’s mother is Dang Merdu. “Dang” would be quite an unusual surname for a Malay also. However, “Dang” or “Tang” is a common Chinese surname. Note that the name “Dang” is in front, signifying that this is a Chinese naming convention, yet again.

Some Malays will argue that “Hang” is an honorific term (Humba) for those that serve the royal courts. http://www.freewebs.com/suaraanum/0506b02.htm This argument is not tenable. Firstly, where is the precedence in sultanates that preceded the Malaccan Sultanate? Secondly, where is the evidence that this is so in succeeding sultanates? Thirdly, where is the evidence that this practice was carried out in the sultanate of that time? And has that Sultan given it to other court official and the royal family and their court officials and courtesans? Where is the evidence? Fourthly, since Hang Tuah’s father is called Hang Mamat, then he would have served the Sultan prior to Hang Tuah. But there is no evidence this is so. In fact, there is evidence that Hang Tuah was a very poor kid in the village. His father was not a high court official, and he was not brought up in the court. In addition, since if Hang Tuah’s father Hang Mamat had already served as a high court official, why must Hang Tuah be educated in Bahasa Melayu and court etiquette etc. again since the family is already indoctrinated in royal protocol?

The last sentence loosely translates as, "There's the possibility to propose that the term "Hang" conferred as a honorific by the Malay Kings also has no basis."

Moreover, before the time of the 5 warriors with their close families during this close period of relationship with the Chinese, there are no Malays with this name.

Note that the Chinese ‘princess’ who married the Sultan of Malacca was called “Hang Li Po”. Here, we not only see the same name, but the name is also in front, indicating a Chinese naming convention. Hang Li Po brought along with her many servants and bodyguards from China who became the Baba and Nyonya's of Malacca - these folk exist to this day. Chinese who do not know how to speak or write Chinese. They have been totally ‘malayanised”. Babas are people of Chinese descend who have been malayanised to such an extent that they wear Malay clothing, eat Malay food (with some Chinese food), speak Malay, and do not speak or write Chinese. Malacca is famous for its Baba communities. The only thing that is Chinese about them is that they are of Chinese ancestry. If you say that Hang Tuah is a Malay in the same sense that these Chinese have been malayanised, then you might be quite right. However, at this present moment, we are arguing on the basis whether he was an ethnic Malay or an ethnic Chinese, in the sense of blood ancestry. .

There is an old Chinese tradition where warriors or servants in the royal palace were given or re-issued with surnames given by the emperor, to signify that they belong to the emperor, or to one of his offsprings. Therefore, it is possible that some very special bodyguards of the emperor or the royal family, have the same surname to signify that they are a unit formed especially to protect that one owner. Since the Princess Hang Li Po was given away in marriage to a strategic partner whose land the emperor wanted to ensure is safe and stable, he assigned a group of able warriors to the Princess Li Po, and he gave their families the same surname. This is not an unusual practice for the Chinese emperor.

As for Hang Kasturi having 4 characters in his name, it is unusual, but it does happen that some Chinese have only 2 characters, and some have 4 characters in their names. For example, my paternal grandmother had only 2 characters in her name.

In the GENEALOGICAL TREE OF THE ROYAL FAMILIES OF PERAK STATE (http://www.geocities.com/aizaris/genealogy), you may note 2 things:-

1) Evidence that traditional Malay naming conventions do not carry the name of the father forward.

2) There is no surname to carry forward

3) Neither name nor surname are placed in front.

4) The genealogy of the early part of the lineage tree makes reference to Chinese ancestry:- “Putera Chedra China” “Puetra China” and then later “Paduka Sri Cina”

This proves there has been early Chinese links in the Malay/Indonesian races and aristocratic lineages.

One Malay argued that Hang Tuah was already in the service of the Sultan before Hang Li Po was sent to Malacca. However, there is not evidence of this. A probable reference is the semi folklore Hikayat Hang Tuah, whicjh is not very reliable as it has many contradiction to Sejarah Melayu. . From the Ming Dynasty chronicles does not mention Hang Li Po or Hang Tuah but did mention the trip of Sultan Mansur Shah. See: http://thepenangfileb.bravepages.com/histr36.htm

It is even possible that Hang Li Po was a minor “princess” (ie. only a daughter of a court official) who the emperor ordered to be given away to marry a vassal sate in order to ensue loyalty and close diplomatic relation. The whole event was blown up to given the foreign king a big ego boost that the great Chinese overlord gave him his own daughter in marriage! (It is doubtful that the conservative Chinese emperors would give their daughters away to somebody living in a foreign land very far away). It has happened before in the history of China. For example, the Tibetans think that their King Sonten Gampo forced the Chinese emperor to give away his daughter in marriage in order to make peace with great big powerful Tibet. The story from the Chinese side is that the Chinese emperor tricked the egotistical Tibetan king into believing that the palace maid was a princess and sent her off with her retinue and gifts. It was a ‘diplomatic trick”. Therefore, it is possible that the Chinese court repeated the trick on Sultan Mansur Shah, and gave him a “Chinese princess” with many gifts for the Sultan. In the meantime, he sent some warriors to the Sultanate to help ensure peace, safety and stability in the region – all in China’s national interests. Protect your friends and your interests will be protected. Or it could have been a ploy used by the Chinese emperor and the Malaccan sultan to use this marriage of a “princess” to deter the Siamese kings from encroaching on Malaccan territory. Siam would not dare to invade Malacca whose sultan is a son in law of the mighty Chinese empire!

Truth's out then. Hang Tuah was a small eye :) Yay, small eyes :) He probably ate char siew too. When his dad wasn't looking ;D

So, why do you do this to me?

Wowie. Time really flies by. One day you're killing your teachers in a blog post and another, you're missing school. It's already the last day of school.

After umpteen weeks of not so patiently waiting, it's here. But, it doesn't feel like it should. I don't even feel the slightest urge to PARTTTTAAAAY ;DDD Ok maybe I do.

After sitting in class with a nonchalant look on my face and an expression similar to that on my heart, I went through the first few months of school. Boring as ever, I resorted to teasing/bullying Ng Jun Jie whom I had deemed gay and provoked to announce publically about his homosexuality. I remember at the first few days of school when we, we being me, Jun Jie, Chin Han and Wei Jing were playing Truth or Dare, there was this UGGGh, GIRL staring and smiling at us. Initially, I thought she was just weird and had nothing beter to do. I was wrong.

One fine day, Caryn, as I learned her name was told me a secret :) She was like, " Wingkeong, can I tell you a secret blablabla". She proceeded to reveal to me her past affections for my gay friend Jun Jie. As fast as greased lightning she added quickly,"That was last time though" and,"If you tell him, I'll kill you".

As you would have guessed, her threats of murder did not prevail for the next day, our hero, being noble and truthful, confessed the truth to his friend. He also warned his friend not to tell the evil Mage Caryn lest she cast an evil spell on our hero.

It was  experiences like these that bonded me closer to my classmastes and vice versa. Experiences like defeating smelly girls, bullying short boys, picking on Arvind and Teck Yoong and many more. I also apologise to people I have teased/bullied. I know you enjoyed it very much.

and the Best Poser Award goes to....
You should see her old blog header. Too bad I didn't save it 'cos the moment I teased her she changed it straight away.

I apologise if I have embarassed anyone through this post but who cares. SCHOOL'S OVER.

Struck down, but not destroyed

So, I guess I'm looking forward to the holidays. I'd be a liar and a stupid one at that if I said I wasn't looking forward to it.

But,...

It's only one week. Time sure flies by huh? I mean, 7 months ago we were just beginning form two. What, happened? Time. Time happened. I hate time. One and a half years ago, I was singing in class, not bothering about anything. Not that I don't anymore, but that's beside the point.

Since I'm 14 now, I have a whole new set of problems.

Not that I didn't worry about PMR before this year. I just, never thought form three would come. But now, it seems so near. Funny isn't it? People kill time while waiting for something they look forward to but, when something that they dread happens, it just happens. Like lightning. It just happens.

I have no idea, why I'm suddenly worried about everything. Suddenly everything seems to matter.

WTF

oh and Dang, I'll do your tag tomorrow. AHAHA.

Bye bye

Heath Crocker

Yeah. I finally saw The Dark Knight. Yeap, outdated mucho. Awesome I tell you. Heath was awesome. Christian Bale was as expected lah. While I was watching a scene, I realised that the way the joker talks,... kinda similar to our beloved Chris Crocker.

They both like smiling.

The way they talk is kinda similar except, the Joker has a real deep voice and likes saying this..

whereas, Chris's voice is high-pitched compared to the Joker.

Sexyback at it's best.

Why do people step on snails?

Yeah, Why? Does it give them some sort of perverse pleasure? Actually I started out wanting to post about the first time I met all my friends but that'll have to wait because I came up with the post title 'Why do people step on snails?' Then I thought, 'Yeah, Why?'

I mean, when I was at a church camp last year, I was walking with my 'macho' friend. He saw a snail slowly moving and chuckled with glee. He slowly took in a breath of air as he savoured the moment. Then, as quick as lightning..

The snail was destroyed. My stomach began to churn at the sight of it. Well, I just don't like squashing small bugs. Firstly, I have dignity. Secondly, it's disgusting. Thirdly, I have a life. Fourthly, if I were squashing a bug in my house, I'd have to wipe up the mess. Fifthly, I don't have the time for funerals.

Remember this?

Remember when snails were our friends? When in our loneliness, there was a friend. An undying relationship. Everlasting we thought. But, when maturity hit us. We didn't feel it. We turned our backs on the one who always was there.

Does it really have to be this way? The truth is, I don't really give a crap about the death of a million snails around the world but, give snails a chance lah. One day they may be extinct ok?

No, I have nothing against escargot. On the contrary, I love it. The texture, the taste, the feel. Mhhmmmmm, slurrrrrp. At least they don't look so disgusting when their cooked right? But still, whenever I eat escargot, I try not to think of the fact I'm chewing a snail.

Stop the killing. Snails are man's REAL best friend.

Jumping To Conclusions

Yeah. I'm updating for the sake of updating so don't pay attention to this post. Or if you're as lifeless as I am you can read until the bottom.

Wow, time really flies by. A year and a half ago, I was having fun. Singing in class? Wait, I still do but it's not the same. When I look back, I really miss it. All of it. But I guess I've moved on. A year ago, when someone said 1 Cengal I'd be like, huh? But now I've gotten used to not being form 1.

I don't even know what I'm talking about. Being form 2 sucks, and being form 3 is probably worst. Stupid PMR. Two of my friends are migrating to Singapore next year so 2009 is not a year I'm looking forward to. The reason, I say being form 2 sucks is because there's so much pressure. I don't work good under pressure, so I resort to bumming around and sleeping away the pressure and I'm proud to say it works.

Seriously. Try it. I love sleeping, don't you? Maybe I should change by blog title. I LIKE SLEEPING.

Maybe?

My name is Erik

and I am gay.

This is some poem I wrote for literature. It's not much but, hey I did this in 5 mins OK?! HAHA. Enjoy :)

The phantom hated Raoul,
But Raoul didn't care,
Because in his mind,
There was only Christine bare.

Because of this,
Erik was pissed,
So, he shook his fist and said this,
SCREW YOU RAOUL!

In his anger,
He took a hamburger,
and stuffed it in his liver,
and died forever.

Do I have a future in poetry? You tell me. HAHA,

Raoul posing :)

Come and think of me...

Erik being cute :D

What was I doing yesterday?

Yeah. I went to do KGT with Zian, Joshua, Mae and Siew Ho. We met up in front of KFC. After being blur for 30 mins, we went to meet Mae at Sandy. After that, we went to the other park. The park which one annoying neighbour, waited to prey unsuspecting victims.

I forgot to invite Eway :(

We were there for like 5 mins, Zian and another human who I cannot remember were swinging on the swings. So the boys and me, went to ask that lifeless retiree who reported to the school when Adam threw eggs at her house. Of course, we put on our biggest smiles and tried to act like we were not disgusted by her. God, you should have seen her hair. It's an insult to people who have hair, and I don't know many bald people so that means you. It's something like this

It's a Mullet for nuffnangs sake!, and it looked like maggi mee on the top. I had maggi mee for brekkie an I was beginning to feel my stomach churn at the sight of it.. So, she signed our survey form. Then she followed us back to the park. As quick as lighting, she reached for her camera and flashed away at Zian and the other girl. I think it was Assikin. Then she mumbled something about having proof and datin or something like that. Then, she whipped out her phone and proceeded to call the entire neighbourhood. At least, all the seniors. She was like, "You don't go, stay here". "Eh, I have a problem here, can you come up here".

Then she and her 'Save The Park' groupies talked to all of us. Oh, and she hates Zian. Me being wise and also starting to feel abit annoyed with the sight of her simply said,"Wont happen again ok?" Then she was like," You're ok boy, it's just that girl (points at zian), SO ARROGANT!"

Obviously, when she left, I was over the moon..

See?

Luckily, that nice old uncle saved us from what would have been very messy. Now, that scary woman went away, but according to siew ho, She was still spying on us from her window. Stalker much?

Siew ho is still coming up with an evil plan to spoil that woman's life.

What are you guys doing?

Is that guy trying to do a split. He's just waiting to be ole-ed. Ridiculous or not? You tell me..

This is the convo I suspect was going on when this disgrace to Malaysian football happened..

Deco: Move or I'll blast your balls
Malaysian Defender: Hah! In your face. I have no balls :)
Deco: *Oles past him

Everything I want is here with me

I wanna share with you a dream I had yesterday night. Now this is special, because I don't usually recall my dreams. All I remember is that I was wearing white underwear and I panicked. Because if you know me really well, you should know I hate white undies. So I looked all over my house to find a not white undie. I can't remember whether I found a pair of undies or anything but, yeah that's my dream.

This is fun, I should post more of my dreams :) Wan Jyn, I'll do your thingy another day :D
